Jo has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the content, and an adequate level of competence in oral presentation skills. A point of view has been presented and adequately justified with arguments that sometimes lack clarity or links to the point of view. The introduction is brief and there is no conclusion, but sequencing language has been well used. Jo has communicated with some proficiency but could vary the vocal delivery more to increase effectiveness. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 2.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.

They explore a range of roles when interacting in pairs and groups, using various listening strategies to gather general ideas from conversations, reports or spoken presentations. Students identify the effect of purpose and audience on spoken texts and they shape and present ideas accordingly. They identify common organisational patterns and language features of predictable spoken texts.
