Jerry has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in sorting, ordering and counting money. Some equivalent amounts have been demonstrated using coins of different denominations. Mathematical symbols for money have been used but there are some errors in the calculations of change from one dollar. Jerry has attempted to explain the answers obtained but needs to count more accurately and show mathematical working. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard midway through Stage 1.

Grade C

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
