Other Work Samples for:

Haley has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a recount. The introduction is adequate but the structure of the text overall is weakened by a lack of time connectives to sequence events and the omission of a personal concluding comment. Past tense has been consistently used and some descriptive language has been incorporated. An adequate range of strategies has been used to spell familiar words but punctuation is inconsistent. To progress further, Haley could revise the structure of a recount, incorporate time connectives and use correct punctuation. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard midway through Stage 1.

Grade C

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
