Reese has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in using a variety of artistic techniques to represent figurative forms. There is sustained synthesis of material practice and abstraction but little variation in the media and techniques used. The treatment of the surface is inconsistent, with some areas showing considered and restrained judgements and other areas overworked. The figure is overshadowed by the textured materials and thus the composition lacks integration and cohesion. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.
