Reese has demonstrated a high level of competence in using a range of painting techniques and glazing to represent the subject matter of the city. A strong consideration of composition is evident in the interesting framing and placement of the bridge. Reese has created a tight arrangement of shapes and form and has attempted to control the perspective. There is confident application of colour and competent painting, although some of the brushwork is formulaic.
