Other Work Samples for:

Lesley has demonstrated a very high level of competence in using a range of artistic techniques to create a portrait. This composition engages the audience with a deliberately constructed glamorous interpretation of portraiture. There are references to Sherman and contemporary photographic approaches to the female image, including a face that is conventional rather than individualised. Colour and tonal modelling techniques have been explored in a tightly constrained composition. Some contrasting elements and slight awkwardness in construction are overridden by the impact of this work, and a definite mood is projected to the audience. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
