Other Work Samples for:

This is an evocative work that incorporates a sense of structure and explores a variety of performance techniques and tone colours within the style of Sarah Hopkins. There is a clear arch structure that builds to an effective climax, yet the middle section is overly cluttered textually and dynamically. Tone colour is explored and developed thoughtfully in each layer of sound. Huong demonstrates a reasonably thorough understanding of the concepts of music and their use within the given style. As a soundscape it is a successfully organised and coherent musical work with some improvisation. The musical outcome is limited by repetition of effects rather than extensive development and by a lack of interaction between the parts. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
