Riley has demonstrated basic knowledge and understanding of histograms and polygons. The frequency table has been completed and the histogram has been constructed but the ogive is incorrect. The cumulative frequency polygon has not been drawn to the top right-hand corner of the columns in the histogram, demonstrating a limited level of competence in the processes and skills. Riley has correctly calculated frequency but has not demonstrated an understanding of the terms, ‘mean’ and ‘median’, or the calculations required to find these. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D3 standard at the end of Stage 5.
