Darcy has demonstrated a basic understanding of the application of a formula and a limited level of competence in communicating mathematical ideas. The question has been misinterpreted so the table and tree diagram are incorrect, and there is little evidence of an understanding of probability. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D3 standard at the end of Stage 5.
