Courtney has demonstrated a sound understanding of all three trigonometric ratios and an adequate level of competence in applying the rules for right angled triangles to find the value of an angle. The word problems have been clearly communicated with correct sequencing and solutions. The angles have not all been correctly rounded and there has been no attempt to find a side in any of the examples. Courtney has not demonstrated an understanding of the connection between the angle of depression and the angle of elevation. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C5 standard at the end of Stage 5.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
