  • gives only one or two possible endpoints
  • gives a range of possibilities for the endpoints
  • makes generalisations about the possible solutions
  • justifies answers by showing that the midpoint of the interval joining the two endpoints is the given point
  • justifies answers using appropriate mathematical terminology
