Cam is competent in written communication. He/she has used the past tense correctly and has an extensive range of kanji as well as correct usage of hiragana and katakana. There is some confusion due to incorrect particle use. The response could have been expanded, eg by commenting on, or asking about, the weather, which may have been enough to align it to Grade A. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
