Both students in this work sample are competent speakers who present a sense of confidence in the conversation. They initiate and maintain communication, and express their own ideas clearly in the given situation. Appropriate vocabulary and linguistic structures are employed; however, some grammatical and lexical errors are made. Both students demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of the culture of Arabic-speaking communities through the use of appropriate greetings, thanking and bidding farewell. These students could improve with the addition of detailed information about colours, price, style or payment methods. Both students in this work sample demonstrate characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at Grade B standard.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
