Courtney has investigated a variety of techniques and made appropriate choices in regard to materials, colour and unity. There is an element of experimentation and expressive use of colour in the artwork. The dynamic juxtaposition of colour and text suggests a deeper insight into the person. The gestural style is accomplished, and an understanding of non-representational art is evident. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
