Description of activity

Students develop a campaign to promote levels of physical activity in a specific target group (eg primary school children, the elderly, their family). The aim of the campaign is to encourage increased levels of physical activity by communicating to the target group the range of benefits provided by participation in physical activity (eg social, physical, emotional).

The campaign is to be presented in a format designed to communicate the message clearly and effectively to the target group, eg storyboard, song, powerpoint presentation, poster, pamphlet.

Context

Students have explored the concept of a balanced lifestyle, analysed their own lifestyle balance, clarified the difference between incidental and physical activity and discussed notions of physical activity for health and fitness. Students have also identified various physical activities that are more suited to specific groups.
