Other Work Samples for:

Taylor has effectively explored features of the Dorian mode, repeated pitch patterns, part independence, call and response, and drone in a composition with a well-defined overall structure. The opening ostinato and the finality of the repeated note at the end are effective. Taylor has demonstrated a good sense of pulse and metre in this rhythmically coordinated question and answer melody. There is a strong sense of structure, although it is predictable. The composition has an improvisational quality. There is a strong sense of ensemble in the secure and balanced performance. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

Grade B
