Dale has demonstrated highly developed aural skills and extensive knowledge and understanding of the musical concepts evident in the piece. Instruments have been correctly identified with a detailed and expansive description of their role provided. Structural elements are well defined using graphic notation and text effectively. Application of blues theory to the music is successful and musical terminology has been used accurately and consistently. Details about the different influences on the piece have been provided, although the style has not been clearly indicated. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
