Work Samples - Grade D

The work samples for this grade, together, assist teachers to gain a common understanding of the standard of work typically produced by students whose performance, on balance, matches the description for Grade D.

Activity: Operations with Fractions (View Activity…)

Students complete a worksheet of operations with fractions.


Activity: Diagonals of a Quadrilateral (View Activity…)

Students answer questions on quadrilaterals, giving reasons for their answers and illustrating them by drawing diagrams.


Activity: A4 Paper Cylinder (View Activity…)

Students sketch two cylinders that could be made by rolling A4 paper and determine which cylinder would hold the most.


Activity: Stem-and-Leaf Comparison (View Activity…)

Students calculate the mean, median and range for a set of scores displayed in a stem-and-leaf plot.


Activity: Tunnel Patterns (View Activity…)

Students determine the rule in a geometric pattern, draw a diagram, complete a table of values and explain how they obtained the rule.


Grade D

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
