Jo has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of statistical terms and an adequate level of competence in reading a stem-and-leaf plot. The calculations are correct and a clear description of how the answers were obtained has been provided. The second test has been identified as having higher results than the first, but no evidence has been given to support this finding. No direct comparison of mean, median and range has been made. Some reference to outliers has been made but their effects have not been considered in drawing comparisons between the two sets of data. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 4.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
