Tracy has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of geometric patterns. An accurate diagram has been constructed and the table has been completed using the correct algebraic rule. The number of centicubes for twenty tunnels has been accurately calculated and the rule has been described but correct algebraic notation has not been used. The explanation shows effective generalisation but guess-and-check appears to be the main strategy used. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
