Dale has demonstrated extensive knowledge and understanding of the properties of cylinders. The dimensions of the paper have been accurately measured and links have been made between the circumference of the circle and the radius of the base of the cylinder. The volume formula has been correctly calculated to find the capacity of each cylinder. Clear diagrams and algebraic techniques have been used, demonstrating a very high level of competence in mathematical processes and skills. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
