Although both of the speakers have met the basic requirements of the task by establishing and maintaining a conversation, colloquial language, rather than modern standard Arabic, has been used. A limited range of linguistic structures has been applied and there are significant inaccuracies in grammar and vocabulary. There are also some errors in intonation and pronunciation, although these do not generally impede the communication. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard.

Grade D

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
